I know when to say NO!!...

Those who know me, know I can be such a hot head. I'm not one to be walked over at all, and I hate to have unresolved issues, I want matters ironed out, cards on the table...any misunderstandings cleared once and for all, so life can go on. I hate irritating people, meddlers and disrespectful ones...who have no consideration for other ppl's space or privacy...and I never shy to immediately give them a piece of my mind no matter how blunt it may come out...when it has to be done, I will show up for that party and unapologetically so.

So recently, this very 'interesting' person has been utterly irritating me, granted there is a history between us so perhaps that is influencing my judgement a lot. I have been tempted to jump down her throat and put in her place once and for all, then it hit me...is she really worth my time and energy? And the answer was an overwhelming NO...some people are so shallow and insecure that they wont even have the courage to face you and challenge you boldly, yet will try to manipulate you into an argument coz in that way they save face and make you look unruly.

So ryt there, decision made...I'm not showing up for this argument, and will not be manipulated into engaging in it...its not worth my time and effort...Everything in me is screaming for her blood, but you know what am a bigger person than that, and I know how to choose my battles very well, so am looking the other way...if you wanna engage with me...u will have to raise your standards dear, and come up to my level...case closed!

Is life really unfair?????

Had an interesting convo with a new friend yesterday about our choices and the constant challenges we face in the hustle for a better life, was interesting how every time we disagreed about something he would say 'life is unfair u know'...then I asked , is life really unfair or are we the ones unfair to ourselves by always making the wrong choices and crazy demands... coveting what we shudn't...indulging where we shud be exercising restraint...constant bickering about trivial stuff...choosing to fix our eyes on the insignificant and wasting our energies on stuff that doesn't add zilch to our lives...living our lives constantly wanting to be right instead of striving for happiness... worrying about what ppl thought of us instead of worrying about character...

So perhaps the true question shud be what is life really....before we blame 'life' for being unfair to us...where is it written that life is a certain 'thing' that is meant to be perfect for all...no where...your life is YOU...yes YOU...your choices...your decisions...your drive...your character...your abilities..how you apply yourself will determine how yr life turns out...so the next time you are tempted to say life is unfair...look in the mirror...

Before you jump on my throat...ofcoz we all know that our existence is affected by the many factors surrounding us...be it family, the country you are born in...the religion or culture you born into etc...however yr legacy...yr life is entirely yr responsibility...once you are old enough to make choices...you create yr life...be it fairly or unfairly...its all on you...there I said it...sue me :-)

Karma is a biatch...

Since y'all wont shut up about this Valentine shit...lemme tell you what I really think about the whole thing. I have no issues with being in love and showing people you love how much you really do love them. However when you have people who won't give it a thought in the rest 364 days of the year and only think that doing so on just this one day makes up for their stupidity and insensitivity, then ryt there we have a problem.

And then, on the other hand you have the ones waiting to receive gifts, they never make any effort to show any love, to appreciate and support their partners, to build good and lasting relationships but then just expect grand gifts on Valentines...love is giving, before u expect, check how much u have given...otherwise you will taste the bitter sting of Karma...so if u are disappointed that u not getting the attention u were expecting today....re-trace yr steps...if u r honest with yrself u will see that perhaps you do not even deserve a simple sms....

And to my loved ones that had to endure my cold response to their well wishes today...my sincere apologies....got nothing but crazy love for y'all...but like my friend Milo said to me this am...screw Valentine if it cant be with me...my take on the matter is...screw life if it can't be with my loved ones....those who genuinely love...give it...always..and receive it back in abundance...

And to the naive ones...go give yr virginity away all in the name of Valentine...get drunk and have sex without condoms....break the vows u made to yourselves and to your partners...loose yr self...all in the name of getting gifts to show off to your friends....who cares it is freakin Valentine's day anyway...let is serve its freakin purpose...to 'spread' the love....but know this Karma is a biatch....we all reap what we sow...at some freaking point of our lives...

Speak your mind...

How we communicate our feelings and needs will determine how we get treated in life. Its been said that we teach people how to treat us and personally, I totally agree with that statement, coz unless you are articulate about how you want people to relate to you, you will be screwed over always. We cannot go through life expecting people to know what to do, how to do it and when to do it. Some people just have no freaking clue, period. They can even think they do,only to find their way doesn't work for you....so u have a choice...u can either grin and bear it and have meaningless relationships...or u can speak yr mind...

Draw the boundary lines clearly so people know exactly who and what they dealing with...never let the fear of being misunderstood stand in your way...people that truly love you, be it yr lover, yr sista, or yr friend, have your best interest at heart...they care for you enough to want to make you happy and to have your relationship grow stronger and better. If speaking your mind dents your relationship, then perhaps u shudn't be having those people in yr life...the sooner u accept that...the quicker u can move on ....gotta say though timing coupled with good attitude is everything in effective communication.....if your timing and yr attitude suck u r just as screwed......trust me!

yes Lady ZeeK is here now.....y'all are going to be hearing from me on daily basis...let's see if my thoughts are as interesting as I wud like to believe they are...Everyday from today I will be letting you what on my mind that day. Knowing myself thats going to be some interesting ish ryt there coz I wake up from very different sides of the bed everyday...thats if I even wake up from a bed at all, LOL.
